Univ. Prof. Dr. Falko Skrabal, Dr. Peter Moser and Dr. Jürgen Fortin founded CNSystems Medizintechnik AG in Graz, Austria, in 1998. The company develops, manufactures and sells equipment for noninvasive, continuous monitoring of blood pressure and other vital parameters. CNSystems was a spin-off from research activities at the Medical University and University of Technology Graz, Austria.

For its innovative products, CNSystems has received renowned national and international awards.

Achievements/ Mile Stones:

  • 1999: The first two devices were sold to NASA, Johnson Space Center Houston; CE-mark for the Task Force® Monitor
  • 2002: FDA approval for the Task Force® Monitor
  • 2004: Start with the cooperation with Dräger Medical in order to bring CNSystems’ technology to the patient monitor market
  • 2005: Development of a new technology platform for CNAP® (continuous noninvasive blood pressure) and Cardiac Output, which enables the production of smaller and cheaper devices
  • 2008: Development of VERIFI-algorithm for the use of CNAP® in critical care and anesthesia
  • 2009: Successful validation of CNAP® in critically ill patients
  • 2010: Launch of CNAP® Monitor 500
  • 2011: Integration of Pulse Pressure Variation (PPV) into CNAP® allows for goal directed fluid management
  • 2012: Cooperation with LiDCO Ltd. in the high-risk hemodynamic monitoring market segment
  • 2013: Integration of pulsewave analysis in order to calculate cardiac output (CO with CNAP® HD) and other hemodynamic parameters from the CNAP® blood pressure (BP) signal
  • 2014: Launch and CE mark for CNAP® Monitor 500 HD for easy continuous noninvasive hemodynamic monitoring and fluid optimization (with CNAP® BP, CO, CNAP® PPV and further parameters)
  • 2015: Horizon 2020: no. 1 out of 195 SMEs
  • 2016: Validation of CO with CNAP® HD; Validation of Outcome   Improvement with CNAP® HD / CNAP® in Chinese Space Station “Tiangong 2“ / Alliance with GETINGE group in Anesthesia and Critical Care.
